I lived in a Comcast/RCN serviced area. Now that was nice.. super low prices, and great high speed internet. I pay twice as much now that I'm in Comcast only territory (about 25 miles North).  |

I don't know about 2 cable providers in the same market, but according to the GAO, 10% or less of U.S. consumers even have a choice of more than one provider (cable, telco, whatever).
I would imagine the amount of people that have a choice of more than one cable provider is easily in the low single digit percentage. |

Parts of NYC has RCN as a competitor or exculsive to Time Warner. Southwestern CT has a telco HFC plant but it was abandoned when SBC bought SNET. |
