| Fun to watch but a bit hair raising at times. Wilson is going to have to keep a close eye on the team as some of the players pulled bone headed moves (the second Wings goal being an example of defensive breakdowns that killed the Leafs last year)

Yeah, I didnt wanna post a thread not to jinx them, but they played really well...
Fast, forechecking, defense, and stayed out of the box.
I ran out of sweat in my balls in the last 5 minutes though, lol...

Hahaha, was a great game to watch... leafs definitely played the better game the majority of the time. Few stupid moves as always which Wilson obviously will have to sort out, but smarter play was clearly visible. Lets hope they can build up some momentum with a nice streak going!

I couldn't believe the Pace of the first period, i just sit down to watch the game after watching that chick with the ummm big guns sing the anthems and it's like 8 minutes left in the first. |

The Leafs played a good game . Good pressure on the forecheck.
I think that the wings played a bad game (even without the pressure of the leafs). Their passing was horrible. Osgoode was brutal. |

The Leafs lost their mentality on both goals against, trying to run and gun and running around with their heads cut off. If Wilson can instill the defensive/hard forechecking hockey we saw for 55 minutes last night, there may be some surprises from this team. Toskala will be there to take care of those lapses - as he was last night. Playing with a bunch of kids is a good thing, they all bust their asses, and it may be a good motivator to the "veterans" like Antropov who wave their stick at guys as a form of defense.
I thought the Tlusty line played great.

| Leave it to the Toronto Sun to blow things out of context. It's only the first game of the season for the Leafs. I for one am not expecting much from this team not for the next 2-3 years any way. |

Osgoode was brutal. Half of Our AHL team beat the Leafs twice in exhibition play last week. I think Detroit may have trouble this year with guys not being hungry enough to go out and play each and every shift the way they had to last season to capture the Cup. I can see a couple of the long timers like Maltby and McCarty losing their jobs to let a couple of the younger kids step in to give the Wings some more speed up front. |
