 Negative Experiance with Magic Jack

I ordered Magic Jack and can say the following:

The call quality is near Skype out and Vonage.

What really ticked my of is that they do NOT have:

E-Mail support
Phone support (even they have a phone service)

I checked wheather call forwarding to international numbers is possible. So I charged my Magic pre-pay account and programmed the call forwarding. guess what ITS NOT WORKING!
After I finally after long search had some one on Live Chat they told me is does suddenly NOT work.

It comes better, THERE IS NO REFUND for prepay accounts!

So I lost ALL MONEY I put into it, even it was the trial period!!!

SO BE AWARE WHERE you dealing with!!!

1. The web page for MJ advertises low cost calls to the US and Canada. Nowhere on their page to they advertise international calls.

2. Similarly, the call forwarding page states you can forward incoming MJ calls to your cell phone or work number. It also does not mention forwarding to international numbers.

Sorry for your bad experience. However, I'm puzzled why you thought MJ would be ideal for forwarding calls internationally. It's pretty much a North American service. I have never had great success with MJ's call forwarding service, even to US numbers. However, I've been pleased with basic incoming and outgoing calls. If you decide to use another VOIP provider, please post questions if you want and forum members will be glad to give you their experiences and advice. Good luck.

Ok, why did you not ask on live chat first. No email or phone support. However, after the fact you figured out live chat was possible.

Plus either trolling or need some help. Who even deposits or makes an international call before knowing the rates. You obviously could not have found a rate chart. Different companies international rates vary quit a bit.

Re: Negative Experiance with Magic Jack

It sounds just like the smart guy that bought something from me on eBay and then assumed that I would give a huge discount on S&H because he bought two items from me.

Ask first, purchase later.

You're absolutely right there's no phone numbers there's no e-mail there's nobody to talk to when you have problems with MajicJack you have to talk to their technical support which starts with a very low person on the totem pole in work shoe what somebody that can actually give you an exchange. My caller ID when out first and then I couldn't receive calls are made calls when I call them all my caller ID they saved all will report it to engineering and hung up on me. The second time I called up I talk to four different people spent 3 hours on the phone and this was a very worst experience I've ever had there's no money back guarantee so all the money that I spent all never get that until they get all the bugs out of magicjack I suggest you don't use it

My experience with Magicjack has been so so to poor. I signed up before they had all those TV commercials. The first device broke after a couple days of use and would only work with the headphones.

I was shipped a new one and that solved the problem. I was making and receiving calls most of the time just fine. However, the quality varied from normal sounding to poor.

The downtime I experienced was probably less than with Sunrocket or Broadvoice when I had them. For $40 it was a great deal.

The problem is when the calls sound so bad that the person tells you they can't understand what you are saying, it really isn't worth anything. I ended up spending my time constantly closing programs using too much RAM to see if I could fix the problem.

I used to be able to fix quality problems this way, but the MagicJack network has deteriorated to where it isn't my problem anymore, it is their problem and they aren't listening.

The funny thing is, they had a forum and the founder decided to shut it down. Now there are several forums scattered all over the web with people chatting about their Magicjack woes.
