ATT long term plans, anyone?

I am switching tomorrow from Comcast here in Houston to ATT, mainly because of customer service issues, waiting 2weeks + to get a service call etc. While I have to admit their speeds are good I never really needed all that speed, very rarely did I ever need to use the 10mbps down I had. Anyway, with Docsis 3.0 and Comcast rolling out faster speeds in many parts of the country, does anyone know what ATT's plans are? Im getting the Elite Tier connected tomorrow and with Uverse here you can get like 10mbps/1.5mbps package or something but not everyone has Uverse. Anyway, any ideas on upgrades into '09 that ATT has planned?

At the end of the day Ill save $20 a month or so after everything and get a speed more along the lines of what I need but Im curious to know whats coming down the pipe?

Any ideas?
Im in Houston in case it matters.

Right now it's only Uverse.

The wait for a service call for Att dsl can take just as long or longer so do not get your hopes up or get disapointed when it happens.

Perhaps the wait time is dependant on who the customer is?
