[Connection Sharing] Can I use my PC tuner without lettting my p

I have time warner in NYC and they already have my connection split 3 times. Two drops go to TVs and the other is for the internet. I just got a new PC in my office that came with a tv tuner. Can i just split my existing office coax and send it over to my pc for tv?

If i can, how much signal loss will occur. I mean, i already have a 3 way split. Is there some sort of amplifier I can add to make sure I dont get crappy service?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Long story short - depends how good your incoming signal already is. If your picture quality is good, and you have no issues with your internet, I'd say try it, see if you're happy with the results...

I just split mine at the modem w/no problems or signal loss and the PC/TV picture is great. Just make sure you use a quality splitter and cables.

I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work.

First, Proper way to do this is connect the two way splitter before the three way splitter, hook your modem to one side, and the three way splitter to the other side.

Secondly, a decent 2 way splitter will introduce ~ 3.5-4.0 dB loss in signal (depending on the frequency).

Finally, your best bet is to find out how to log into your modem and check the signal before you add the splitter in (feel free to post your findings here).

P.S. Most non-commercial grade cable amplifiers (I.E. one not supplied by your cable company) do more harm than good.
