| [IA] 2mbps in Ames?
Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing a slowdown in Ames tonight. I'm on the West side of town, have had MCHSI at this apartment since June and have always had my full 8mbps. Suddenly tonight I'm down to about 2.2mbps. Upload is fine. Anyone else experiencing issues? |

Forward path: SNR = 37.9 dB Received Signal Strength = 4.8 dBmV Bit Error Rate = 0.000 %
Return Path: Power Level = 49.5 dBmV |

| It's happening again. My connection actually completely stopped for about 10 minutes, modem would not sync. Now, it is working again, but only around 1.5mbps. My levels are also suddenly all weird.
Forward Path: SNR = 26.5 dB Received Signal Strength = -16.2 dBmV Bit Error Rate = 1.552 %
Return Path: Power Level = 53.0 dBmV
How can the levels be changed that much over just a couple of days, when I've changed absolutely nothing about my wiring? My apartment building is very new (built in 2004 I think) and all wires are good quality RG6. Is someone stealing my cable or something? |

| I appreciate the reply, but of course I've checked all of that Guess I'll be calling to get a tech out here, unfortunately. I just don't understand why this would be happening. Doesn't make any logical sense. |

Run this little program »www.pingplotter.com/freeware.html when your connection is slow and post the results here. |

| reply to djbrettb Your def need to get your card split if your having speed problems all the time...and sounds like MC has something failing if your signal bounces that much... as for your speeds i would have them check the cards downstream utilization. One card is capable of only 38mbps down |
