Reinstall Civilization 4

ok. The game was giving me an error so I had to uninstall the game the hard way, via ashampoo uninstaller.

only now when I try to reinstall the game it gives me an error saying it's already installed.

Is there a way to force the install? What do I need to make sure is deleted to get the install?

Yes, the program file is deleted.

This is on windows vista

Thank you.

Mind saying what you did in case people with similar problems in the future stumble upon this topic and want to know what worked for you?

pff you want me to do what... no way!

Ok. I found a way, using Ashampoo Uninstaller, to delete files from the installed files list (I guess the list that add / remove programs uses).

I did that and then tried to install again. It worked.

Not trying to be a goof... but why did you use a 3rd party uninstaller?

Also... isn't the uninstall file on the CD as well? Couldn't you have run it from there?

I was getting all kind of errors trying to do it with their setup. it was a mess. One error told me to reinstall the game while I was trying to uninstall it in order to reinstall.
