| Why Different Speeds
I am looking for an explanation for the following. Do you think that, when I signed up for Time Warner cable TV, they also put restricted my Internet connection, while my friend, who did not sign up for cable TV remained unregulated.
I and a neighbor have Road Runner. For a year or so, we both had DirecTV for tv and extremely fast Internet connections, with no apparent restrictions. Then I switched to Time Warner for TV. We both still had standard connections, although I signed up for the higher speed when I switched. There was no noticeable change in my Internet speed, but the download of large files would stall out after a time, and resume and complete the after delays. Recently, I decided to return to look at DSL for the Internet connection, and compared my Road Runner speed with my friends - his is twice as fast(6000 versus 12000 on speakeasy) as mine. Any thoughts? |
