US Open on USA HD for Comcast NJ II

Comcast has started pre-empting MOJO HD for USA HD during US Open coverage.

Channel 206 for USA HD (like the Olympics, only during broadcast times). Currently showing the Davenport match.

Once again my system is pre-empting MOJO for USA HD sports programming, even though we've had USA HD fulltime since March. Doesn't make any sense.

Yeah, doesn't make sense. They must have just done it across the NNJ region.

I'd say it's probably for the same reason that if the Phillies are playing on ESPN, their game is blacked out for us in NJ II system.

But let's be realistic CRP: It's not like you are missing Mojo programming, are you?

You want more HD? Then e-mail Rick Germano - Go to Contact Us in the Comcast web site. And don't complain when analogs are removed! Digital isn't the future, it's the present!

FWIW The guide has been updated for MOJO and is now showing US Open tennis at the right times, not like last night when I just happened to flip to the channel and see it.

OK. this makes sense... On Saturday, Comcast posts a message on the cable box saying that 3 days ago, the US Open (which started 5 days ago) is available in HD on channel 206 and 222 (maybe my eyes are were bad and it said 233...we don't have 222 and 233 is CBSHD, which does have the open). well, give Comcast credit - they are telling you about something that you can watch in HD.

And I did notice that 206 switched back to MOJO HD at 5pm even though USA still had tennis some of those days, but with last night's late session, I did see 206 had USA HD past 11pm (I don't know how late).

Sweet I just noticed that even though there's no US Open on they're still simulcasting USA HD on MOJO. At least we get a little taste of it

Even sweeter that Comcast have been staying past 11 tonight with this great Roddick x Djokovic match!

I've seen them doing that lately.

Makes me wonder...maybe someone at the headend is watching the match at night to see if it overruns it's normal time frame.

the way the US Open has been going, NOT switching off USAHD is a pretty good idea. I think they've gone 15 hours straight some days this week. They do that with MSGHD/MSG+HD sometimes, just letting it run long to make sure no part of the game is missed before switching back on channels 201/206.
