(northwest) Everett / Silver Lake/ Mill Creek Washington

Fios has gone live in the east Silver Lake area, I live down 116th just east of 35th and today I almost fell out of my chair when I hit the verizon fios site and it said order service today...well of course it did not work so I called. My inst date is June 11th.

@navy.mil
How close are you to Naval Station Everett? I may be moving back home (Washington) in the near future. I would also fall out of something if I could get FOiS upon my return. Thanks.

Way south, the Navy base is just North of down town, I'm south and east of Everett Mall, if you look just east and south of the Mall you will see Silver Lake, it's East Silver lake that has it right now. South Mill Creek around 180th has had Fios for some time. Some small area's of the East Silver Lake, out the east of Pioneers trails had it very early this year.

Still no activity just north of 132nd (between hwy 527 and 35th). And I thought that I would be one of the first live spots (based on the original press releases). There must be some permit problem or something.

I live in that area. They did all the digging on our street back in October, but it's still not available at my house.

tomab,
that is strange, you guys had all the orange pulled before my area did, I really don't understand why we would go live first. Same with you rainydave. I did call up to the Eng'r office on 41st about 1 week ago and talk to a lady in there about my area and when it would go live, I guess she could have talked to the other Engr's and pushed my area through first. That still does not explain why your still not seeing live rainydave. Have you called the VZ and asked them about it? Perhaps try the guy next doors phone number and see if that works.
When the inst person shows up I'll try and get info from them about the rest of the Silver Lake area.

ggoose -
Glad to hear your moving forward. What's odd is that I haven't seen a Verizon / contractor truck in months.
Keep us posted on the install.

2 VZ guys came out today and ran the cable up to the side of the house, really not much to say. They pulled the cable from the large box in the ground over the corner and dug a small trench up to the side. Only interesting thing was the small tool they used to go under the side walk I have. I tried to get some info out of them about other hoods around this area and I realized very quickly they did not know much. They just pull the cable to the houses. They did say they have done a lot of work south of here most of the year but now are working more in the Mill Creek/South Everett area. They did say they heard the south Everett area was later this year. Also Fios TV for us will be early next year.
I will try for info again with the Tech that puts the ONT on the house and see what he has to say.

I've tried calling in a few times. Each time I get the same reply: "Our system says the service is not available to your home yet".

I shot off an email to John Gustafson at Verizon NW. We'll see what he says.

We're moving closer. I got a call from someone at Verizon NW. It turns out they had input our address in the database as 120th Pl SE, not 119th Pl SE. So, they could never find my address.

He is forwarding it on to have it adjusted. Hopefully, I will be able to order soon!

Re: (northwest) Everett / Silver Lake/ Mill Creek Washington

Over the past few weeks I have noticed quite a few loops of orange conduit taped to the power poles up and down Meadow Rd. I also saw the ditchwitch crew out there the other day. Only a few streets down....:)

I just had the inst completed...fantastic is the only word that I can say. The tech was here right on time. She told me what she was going to do and we talked about the placement of the ONT and running the cable over to my computer. She told me I was getting the newer ONT which I thought was nice. Then I left her to get on with it. The ONT inst on the side of the house is very clean, very professional. She ran the cable through the garage and was able to swap out the existing cable/phone plate I have in the den to account for the new jack. She told me she had to config the service so the phone line would be down for a few mins. When she was done with the inst of the hardware another tech who must have been in the area stopped by. They came in we talked about the service and got the computer hooked up. Did a little speed test and it was done.
I ordered the 5/2 service to start with and quickly realized I really wanted the 15/2. The speed bump will happen tomorrow. Along with the new package pricing on the fios site.
Thanks you did a great job !!!!!

Howdy all,

I'm in a new development (Tambark Springs) in North Bothell, on the cusp of Mill Creek.

Every time I try to order FIOS online I get to the Great News! order page, my eyes light up, my pulse quickens, salivary glands do their thing, I click ORDER and...

We're sorry....
We are not able to process your request. To continue, please select
one of the following options:

Return to the previous page.
FiOS Home Page.

And if I try it again it happens over and over. Endless loop.

Anybody else runnning into this when you KNOW FIOS is available where you are? I can schedule an installation appointment over the phone but am continually told (talked to FOUR people - Verizon CSR via chat, Verizon CSR via phone, Verizon Fiber Solutions Department via phone, and Verizon Northwest CSR via phone) that they can't extend the current online ordering deal ( 15/2 = first month free, months 2-7 @ $39.99 and a $25 Target giftcard) to me. It's like they don't want me as a customer! I'm trying to order online! I Have been trying for the past week and a half. I tell them their ordering page is broken and I get nothing. Just a "wait for it to be fixed if you want to order online" kind of vibe. But much like Veruca Salt, I want FIOS now, daddy!!!

Are you using Firefox or IE? I had the same thing happen. I told them what happened and the lady I talked to said she would put in my order. I called back and said I wanted the on line deal and another lady said because the web site was messed up she would do the deal for me. She was very help full and very nice to talk to.

Hmmm... I'm using Internet Explorer. I tried at home on IE 7 and at work on IE 6. I also tried using the Safari beta that Apple just released for Windows. I'll try Firefox.

Every CSR I've talked to made it sound like I was asking them to move mountains to give me the online deal. A couple flat out told me that it "couldn't be done." I'll try again. Wish me luck!

eightsoul,
Always remember what grandma said, you get more bee's with honey then with salt, but a little dash if whiny sappy bitching never hurts

On a side note I was out for a walk with the wife when I noticed 2 VZ's van's driving by, I thought I wonder... and yes they were the 2 inst ppl that did my work, we all waved at each other, I feel the love that fois spreads.
