Update: December 18, 2007
I'm a little irked because Sprint adds fees associated with voice service to my account. I called and emailed Sprint several times to have these charges removed, but no luck. Then, I got a notice in my last bill saying these charges would no longer be applied (no word about a refund for the fees I've already paid) BUT they'll be replaced with other fees not associated with phone service. Bah!
Other than the extra not-disclosed-until-you-subscribe fees, I love the service. It doesn't work everywhere, but in places where it does, it's ultra convenient.

I had Sprint mobile broadband working within 2 hours of deciding I was going to get it (which included a trip to the sprint store to pick up the card). The card was "free" with a 2 year commitment. I chose the PC-5740 because it's compatible with the router I ordered (the Kyocera KR1).
At the Sprint store, they didn't have the Sprint PCS Connection Manager CD. They called the manager and offered to have it available the next day. I told them I'd rather download it myself, than come back to the store the next day, so they waived the activation fee. I think it would have been $30 for activation but I'm not sure.
I would have preferred to use Verizon as a mobile broadband provider, but Sprint offers UNLIMITED access and by all accounts it is truly unlimited (whereas Verizon EVDO is limited to 5GB per month and from what I hear they're STRICT about NO streaming, and all sorts of other preposterous rules).
I haven't needed to use Tech Support and I'm not aware of any "services" that come with Sprint mobile broadband, so I didn't give ratings for those.
FiOS it ain't. But FiOS isn't portable. Sprint mobile broadband can serve as an adequate backup for FiOS in the rare case that I need it, and it's ultra convenient to have a mobile connection.
Definitely a thumbs up!
