    Since people asked for a proper review.

    Rogers before 2006 was the best service ever. I never had a complaint about them.

    First issue I had was when I moved, when they transfered the account the forgot to close the old account so I got dinged twice. I payed because it was only $50 dollers. They also had to come when I was at work, I told my wife to not let them touch our modem since we bought it. The switched the modem and started charging us the rental fee. When I saw this on the bill it took six months to get it worked out. The came up with every excuse in the book they could think about.
    I also found out around that time in my area they were throttling BT, but that did not concern me since I never use BT.

    Around November 2007, I had noticed they strated throttling other applications. The big one that was noticed was a game, since it is time sensitive I noticed it right away. I stopped playing games, started working on websites part time. For a couple of months all was fine, then my uploads to webservers were starting to get corrupted(if you have ever uploaded i a text file you know how small it is). So my websites were starting to get corrupt. Even lost a few customers I got because, I could not maintain or make new sites.

    Around May 20th, I decided to never pay my bill ontime since at that time I did not know fully what was going on. Rogers employees never gave straigt awnsers. I paid my regular use. Not the 25 dollers late fee.

    When I found out exactly what they were doing when I started doing tests, with packet sniffing. Tests:

    BT - Wire Shark - NNagent - No control - Global Network - My House:
    Packet resets, forging

    BT - Wire Shark - NNagent - Select file, Select hash, private tracker - select provincail friends ontario, any service:
    Packet resets, forging

    BT - Wire Shark - NNagent - Select file, Select hash, private tracker - select provincail friends in City, any service:

    After tests and rogers sent the the late fees to collection, since they were the ones causing the issues in the network. I sent them a bill for time lost due to website design. They refused to pay it now I sent it to collections

    I have not moved yet but I did change my service to a local dsl provider. That has their equipment in the bell CO. They dont throttle or packet shape. I am very happy now.

    Also due to the dpi they use, latancy has increased substantionaly.

    Hmmm....

    No problems here. Your review is very incomplete. I am sure there are a lot of variables that are causing your poor connection. However you didn't mention much. Your review was nothing other than a "they suck" review. Which, honestly is pretty useless. I'm sure with a little effort and trouble shooting you could get most of your problems resolved.

    As for the throttling, well good luck finding away around that. EVERYONE is suffering from this now.

    Likely the worst cable internet provider in the world

    Rogers is worst than evil. If such a company existed in America they would see fines in excess of a billion dollars compliments of the FCC for abuse of customers and of course be shutdown indefinitely. Good luck in your lawsuit. Add a tidy sum for personal damages.

    Support Fiascos.

    Rogers has gotten to the point where I call until I get somebody who sounds competent on the phone to deal with my issue. Its gotten to the point where I have to call Rogers myself instead of letting my wife call, as they take advantage of the fact that shes female on the phone quite often. Its a piss poor tactic, but it seems the case anymore.
