I am a local hughesnet dealer in cleveland ga. I wanted to let everyone know that i have installed 30 new 9000 systems and all my customers that upgrade are very happy. The hn9000 is faster than the hn7000 and is noticable. Plans up to 5 meg now. Give us a call Clayton satellite 706-969-2318

I'd just like to say, I have Hughesnet and would not recommend it to anyone. The latency is terrible, and the dial-up we switched from was faster. Combine that with frequent outages due to weather and the unknown and it's pretty bad.

$300 to cancel service as well. Stuck.

    Re: Hughesnet

Dial-up has a max of 56k. If that is faster than your hughesnet than your system has some real issues. Even the older systems should give you atleast 600k. You should have a tech come out to look at your system. You can go to www.customercare.hughesnet.com to run a speed test on your system. If your system is installed properly than you should get what you pay for. If your system has equiptment issues than it can really slow you down. The new 9000 system is ka and not ku like the older systems. My customers get atleast 1 meg to up to 5 meg down. The new service switches on the satellite now instead of in florida and the latency is way less. I do voip on the hn9000 all the time. The new satellite called spaceway has the potential of giving commercial customers up to 16meg down. Yes i said 16meg down. P.S. i like your screen name i am a pilot.

    Customer service stinks service stinks

I upgraded so I could have more download each day because I work from home. When the first time I went over Hughes did nothing to help me out. They told me what I wanted to hear and then did nothing. I was told that I signed the policy and in the next sentence told I had no contract. I need to download and after a run around I could not work for a full day while waiting my turn to get up and running again. I spend 80/mth with them and I am switching to my local cable company as they allow as much downloading as you can do with more download speed and upload speed for less money. I am always down when the weather is bad as well not helpful at all. Don't use Hughes Net unless you live in a cave and can't get other internet services.
