I have been with charter for over a year now. if there was another company in my area that i could choose from, believe me i would jump ship to them in a second.
their service isnt the problem as my internet and phone service (which i have through them) is up and running with very little downtime. about the only time my service goes down is during major storms (winter, etc).
my problem with this company is their customer service. first its hit or miss if you call and are able to speak with someone who is not a foreigner and that you can actually understand their english.
second it seems most reps just tell you something to get you off the phone.
it all started when i switched my phone to them. one of their agents called and offered me phone service for $4.95 for a year so i agreed. took a month and a half to get a time were the installer could come out hook it up.
when i got my first bill, it was for around $74. my internet is around $30 so certainly not the $4.95 price.
called customer service and they said that the $4.95 was no longer available when i had my phone installed. they do not honor past promotions.
things really went downhill when i got behind on my bill. i was given a disconnection notice and called them to arrange payment to avoid disconnection. the rep said that the disconnect would be avoided however a guy showed up a week later to disconnect my service.
so had to call back customer service to see what the prob was. this rep told me the disconnect had not been taken off. she told me the former rep i spoke with had gave me wrong info. i was like well, that is your fault not mine.
the guy that showed up to disconnect told me he has lost track of customers who are told misleading info by their customer reps.
i have had to call their reps repeatedly due to questionable billing amounts on my bill.
my next door neighbor has charter aswell and said he has went round after round over the phone with their reps due to amounts on his bill not adding up with what their bill was suppose to be.
