I was on dialup for 4 months, got real tired of having to download all night to try a game demo only to find out that it wasn't worth playing. Called Comcast, 5 days later my internet was smoking! Install took all of 20 minutes and one splitter(provided by the tech). I have only had one slowdown from 6:00PM to 6:00AM one night, I put blame on the work being done to upgrade the system for the higher speeds.
I consistantly test in the high 1700k download range, Lovin' it! Can't wait to get the speed increase to 3-3.2mbps.
If you have a chance to get Comcast HSI...GET IT!
Yeah, 3.4mbps 2/3/04...Smokin!

UPDATE June 1. 2007
Switched over from Comcast Digital Phone to Comcast Digital Voice today: »[CDV] UPDATE - CDP to CDV
Tech called and came early, replaced my Moto SB5100 with an ARRIS TM502G. Lit right up. Called the MAC in on his cell, modem reset. Called again and asked for a dialtone, modem reset again. Bypassed the ARRIS CDP box outside.
Signed the work order and was done.
As he was driving away, he called the house to make sure... Loud and Clear.
Comcast Rocks!
[Update] December 04, 2007 Still running like a champ! *NO* price increases still! PowerBoost sizzles here(like, 32mbps for ~40MB). Great for those 100MB parts of split up "items". CDV hasn't skipped a beat! ARRIS TM502G kickin butt!
In Hercules, CA? Want FAST internet, great phone service that's reliable? GET COMCAST!
[Update] March 02, 2008 Feb 23rd, 2008. Online Chat to have Blast pushed to ARRIS CDV eMTA. Someone had left *MY* Motorola SB5100 on the account after CDV eMTA was installed, Blast was pushed to Moto instead of ARRIS. ARRIS was kicked to Walled Garden. Called 1 800 COMCAST, CSR seen issue and had me reconnect *MY* Moto back up. Ran like a champ(of course!). Decided to call after 72 hours(on Thursday 28th) to get service switched to ARRIS and have Moto taken off account.
Not a problem!
ARRIS TM520G recieved the config but, no PowerBoost and upload was less than what it was on Moto - 1.7mbps upload vs 2.2mbps upload on Moto. Call on Friday to have Moto added back to account and have Blast pushed to it.
No problem!
I now have 33-35mbps PowerBoost and 17.3mbps sustained after PowerBoost for download speed. I have 3.1mbps PowerBoost and 2.2mbps sustained after PowerBoost for Upload.
ALL AT NO EXTRA COST!!! Still $52.95 per month!
[UPDATE] May 17, 2008 16mbps service still running fine! Love the 2.2mbps sustained upload.
Comcast is great!
[UPDATE] Nov 18, 2008 Recent upgrades have pushed my modems/connection to DOCSIS 2.0 and upstream to QAM 32 has increased my upload PowerBoost to ~11mbps. Still rock solid. Still getting great speed at all times of the day. Still just $52.95 per month. :)
