Comcast finally upgraded me from 6/384 to 6/1 for FREE, why..I don't know..But I think its because I get my connection from Chicago, and being I seem to get what Comcast Chicago gets..I get.
Also I hear about At&t bringing U-Verse to city's around my area. Only thing that has me stumped is why Chicago still has the 8/2 speed tier..Yes that was also upgraded from 8/768, why they didn't just take off 8/2 and gave the 8meg users Blast! (16/2) I don't know..
But I'm happy that I finally get 6/1 speeds, I upload alot and doing alot of torrenting, I see about 110kb/sec on upload speeds sustained.
(I uploaded a picture of my new upload speed in action..but sadly I uploaded the same picture twice..and there doesn't seem to be a delete button for the picture(s).

ordered on a friday got it installed monday, the installer hooked up my cable modem and everything but left me to get it going since his comcast cd didnt recongize me network card in pc so had to call in and a tech had to "push" my cable modem online has worked flawlessy since i gave tech support a low rating because their trying to charge me 50.00 for installtion when all the tech did was hook up my cable modem..i could of done that..im gonna to call and see if i cant just be charged 20 for basic installtion, heres a speed test i did to chicago on speakeasy Speed test @ chi.speakeasy.net 4137/359 kbps the pings in my games are awesome to (im in northwest indiana)

5-16-05 ok an update upgraded to gold tier speed 6meg down 768up about a month ago and ever since i upgraded to gold my download speed never did/does reach 6meg or high 5meg its all over the place i usally see around high 2meg to low 4meg download heres a speed test i just did at 5am »/speedtests/39···16323876 which is utter bullshit ive tried to get ahold of a local comcast personal but no luck everything is fine but my download speed, i loose connection at night which seems once every week (around 2am) id suppose their doing maintance but every week? just tonight around 2am i kept loosing service PLUS my cable tv went out to, i think comcast is really screwed up right now and if they dont get their act together im taking my buisness else where.

Wow..so it's been 2 years since ive updated this. In that time ive moved out of my parents house and had 2 apartments of my own and now my 2nd apartment in Michigan City, IN i finally got Comcast again. To my surpise Comcast has really stepped up since ive had them at my moms 2 years ago..
Ordered their Triple Play from the phone, Tech came out installed all 3 services, Voip,Digital Cable. The HSI flys everytime i use it and when playing online games i ping 15ms to servers in my surrounding area and 40ms to nyc.
Digital cable..came with just basic but i tried out Showtime for $4.99 a month..didnt like it so got rid of it and got starz!, Encore and the discovery Health and all those channels, like 70 channels for $20.00 extra a month and their VOD.
The phone...well that's their best deal, unlimited calling all the features you love, caller-id,voicemail,3way calling. Love my phone..never have to worry about long distance again *YAY* A buddy of mine not far from me also has their phone and cable and hes also loving it.
Only bad thing i can say about their phone is if you lose power you'll only have a couple of hours of your phone untill the battery in the modem dies out.
--Overall Comcast has really upped their service since ive had last them and its sorta sad reading about all the bad reviews this site gets for Comcast, so for once Comcast has a good one!

Recently moved across town, and reordered the Comcast triple play, (i didn't order it) but as far as the service goes, have the 6/384 which comes standard with the triple play. So as far as the speed goes..its nice while powerboost kicks in but after that its back to 6/384.
Ping times are pretty decent i live in N.W IN, and i ping like 20-30 to a Chicago server (which is kinda high) being that im 60miles from there.
Phone service is good, don't watch much tv but when i do it works fine with (VOD) (Video On Demand.)
Had a storm come threw here not to long ago and it wiped out all 3 services, which i don't understand how it went out so easily. Service was down for probably like 5 hours, doesn't sound like alot but try waiting that long without phone,tv,internet.
---Overall, Comcast is still good in my area but, they seriously need to upgrade their upload speed on the 6meg plan from 384, its been that speed for years now.

Update: Comcast is now using "Sandvine" on my line which limits uploading using torrents, And they are denying any sort of using this sandvine. Only work around i have while using the utorrent.com program is to leave utorrent seeding after a download is complete. If you restart utorrent after your download is complete, Sandvine will come into play and you won't be able to upload.
