I tried to order DSL here but the rep claimed I could only get 3Mbps/384kbps, despite being 4000 feet from the CO. Heck, that's 40% of the ADSL limit of 8Mbps. So, I went with Optimum Online. Verizon FiOS is available but it's Verizon, which means blocked ports, poor customer service, and arrogance from start to finish.
The service here stays up most times, but I do get torrent traffic throttled now and again. Gaming is a little tricky, sometimes it's very good and then other times, I have to go read a book -- not a hardship but that's the fact.
Would I like 8Mbps DSL from Earthlink? Sure. But it ain't happening.
