Works well - no frills service, with great tech support... that's what an ISP should be, and DSL-Extreme is.
+ Upgraded email storage + Upgraded usetnet service (for those that use it) + No filters/caps or other big ISP junk (hint Comcast, AT&T, TimeWarner)
- Requires AT&T phone service (local) - AT&T still runs the show
On a 'good' note, I'm at ~10.4k ft. according to DSL-Extreme and AT&T. I'm running the 3008/512kbps profile at full speed. AT&T's service only allows me to be at 1.5Mbps/384kbps.
I've thought about switching to either TWC or AT&T Uverse, however the difference for what I need is marginal at best:
DSL-Ex + POTS: $26.88 + $57 = $84/month (unlimited phone service, including all taxes/fees) TWC HSI + VoIP 'discounted' = $ 70/month + fees/tax, rates increase after promo, installation fees apply Uverse dry loop (w/o TV) + Call Vantage = $ 45/month + $25/month = $70 + fees/taxes and a lot of hoop jumping to keep my phone number and service.
DSL-Extreme + POTS = very stable as long as AT&T's lines are good. Since Uverse is around, AT&T has to keep the lines clean.
